    Riser card heaven
hopefully you'll find what you need there
It does look like you need extremely long risers though :p
    Good luck !

You could always stack a few ... Would the extra length lead to any lower performance? What about voltage drop ?

Rep for that mate, even though they were already on my radar :)

In particular, THIS card is the one i'm going to use. Well, two in fact. On the site:
Why would they sell it if it doesn't work?

I'm using PCIe x8 because it'll look better, will be easier to route, and doesn't make a damn bit of difference, since i'm on s1156, and only have a total of 16 PCIe lanes, and even if i did have more, it wouldn't make a difference.

I hope the length of the PCIe extenders wont hurt stability or performance. If it does, i can resort to shorter ones and turning the cards around (not as good-looking obviously), or, in extreme cases, solder them to the back of the board. I've secured this schematic to help me do that, lord help me if i get stupid enough to actually try :)

    You have a point...

plus, who am i kidding? It's not as if there'll be significant enough progress by the 30th for the worklogs to benefit from the secrecy. :hehe:
I wont post it in the logs, if people wanna see, they can either find their way here or wait :p

Anyway, here's the finished(ish) screenshots of my little big project...

how do you do that man? Sketchup hasn't crashed on me in ages, and it doesn't seem like my model is THAT much simpler then yours...

Sucks mate, you really have a cool style and great ideas :)

    maybe? :S

I find Sketchup to be very heavy on disk I/O and CPU. Both are quite covered in my rig, but i still feel the need to make things work better.
i have an intel 80GB SSD sitting here, i hope that'll make things go more smoothly, too bad it's a DOA that's up for RMA :(
