@Phinix - Do you remember how NASA has had problems HITTING Mars?
...If I worked there, the Mars rover would have been sent into the Sun.

Hey guys, i have two questions: what exaclty qualifies something as a "folding" rig ? would an matx setup with dual 4870x2 do ? ( which are quite fast at folding ? )
and how far do i have to implement the "mobility" factor, would a handle do ?

    use your imagination!

mobility isn't compulsary, and a dual graphics card rig with the focus on cooling and high clocks is the basis for a good folding rig so yeah.

You won't be disqualified if your design is bad for folding either. These contests are about designing beyond the limits of budget and build-ability. Some great ideas have come out of these contests.

    Some possibilities...
-8 pico boards on the back of a touchscreen.
-an all-in-one unit with built in peripherals.
-a cluster comp on wheels/legs/tracks/at the top of some stairs/on a dogsled pulled by 80 hamsters...
-a school bus packed with computers.

Well.... the picture I posted earlier, I've kinda scrapped that case, wasn't turning out right and I hadn't planned it enough beforehand, for those interested though this is what it looked like when I stopped:

Anyway as I had scrapped that I decided I would go down the mobility theme... and I kinda started making a tank before I realised everyone else was... anyway this is how far I have got so far:

Obviously still got a lot to do... got to finish the gun that you can see I'm working on (thats a side mounted gun), then there is the gun turret on top to do, then the treads, then the inner components, watercooling, more armour to put on, extra little details and finally colouring it all in... so still lots to do, luckily I got to 1st November...

Btw, if your interested in what I can fit in there it it gonna be: matx board, 2 full length graphics cards, full size psu, optical drive, 1-2 HDD, 2X120mm fans with radiators, the lowest profile pump I can find (it's hopfully going into the turret) and 4 small reservoirs (there behind those half octagon pillar things) yup so more updates to come!

    YAY!!!
I love tanks! -If it wasn't obvious.

The only thing I would have against your 1st build is all the lines are parallel to the side. If you had added more variation to the shapes in a front to back direction, It would have worked better. -There's no reason you can't do two builds.:D
For the tank I can only say lighten the color a bit. My monitor sucks and it's showing up as a black spot.:( I wanna see more!

Yeh... I got quite a lot of inspiration from your case Craigbru (without trying to make it too obvious), but then again your case is epic!
As I said cheapskate, lots of colouring to do when its finished, but just for you I may do a bit of re-colouring beforehand :p
