Here's my almost not anymore WIP entry, ie, I am almost finished with the modeling! Whoopie!

This rig might be stretching the theme a bit, but I am going to go by confusis and Cheapskate posts earlier about being creative more than following rules :D

Where's that stretching the theme? It can fold! And it looks cool! Really like your loop there. You might want do do something to your mesh though, it looks to busy. Maybe use the smooth function @ 180° to get rid of all the lines and bring out the texture.

On a side note, the pins on the Tyan boards are a PITA. :naughty:

Well, it isn't exactly mobile ;) According to my calculations the case, alone, would weigh between 15 and 20 kg!
The mesh is supposed to be hexagonal holes, but I agree they look rather bad from a distance, when zoomed in a bit they look much better.
How do I smooth the model? I am new to Sketchup (and 3d modeling at large) so any and all help is greatly appreciated.
    And thanks for the critic!

    Yeah sure, here it goes:

Your mesh does need to have a height, it won't work if it's only 2D.

First you need to select the whole mesh. Then you right-click on the selection and select soften/smooth edges.

In the dialog you can now enter 0-180 degrees. All edges that are of the selected value or below will now disappear. You could enter 90° now, but we are lazy and want all edges to disappear anyway so we can just select 180°, the maximum.

    Job done!

Just remember not to smooth anything until you are done modeling it. SU won't edit smoothed faces.:D

-Feel free to make as many entries as you want, and do something CRAZY!:naughty:
I know I've said this every contest, but the nice thing about computer modeling is you can throw the idea of cost and build-ability out the window.

I would except my SU skills are appawling. i can't even get the tubing to work right!

I do need to dabble in it though once I have my Obsidian mapped out properly. Corsair said "they didn't have any accurate drawings" of it

Motherboard 99% done. I'll add the depth when I'm sure I haven't forgot anything, it's easier to edit on a 2D plane. Not gonna tell you folks which board it is though. :naughty:
Never had this much fun drawing something in Sketchup for a long time. The competitions are awesome.

Actually there was the little voice of Cheaps in my head that said: Moar details! :worried::lol:

Oh yeah, what I wanted to ask:

Are we allowed to use plugins?

Yes, you can use plugins. I don't remember whispering that you add that many details.:hehe: -but hey, if I get so wasted that I start whispering to people on a message board...

...and where'd this strange tattoo come from?
...How did I park my van in a tree?
    ...Why is my tongue blue?
    ...a goat?

Thanks to the help from Aterius Gmork and Cheapskate, here's a new even more non-WIP picture!
Smoothed the mesh and changed/added some small details (mostly nonvisible)

It's the reservoir, to be fabricated from scratch. There is one top part that is fed hot water from the water blocks. This falls into the bottom part which is connected to the pump, which then feeds the water into the radiator.
Between the top and bottom part there is a sort of scaffolding made out of transparent orange plexi, only for effect.

Top, as seen trough the sidewindow
    [IMG]

Bottom, hidden in the lower part of the case, out of sight. The connector seen to the left of the picture is the inlet to the reservoir. I haven't put any tubing there yet.

I like that. If you are planning to build this, I'd run the res through the top of the case. The fill port would be hell where it is now.:D

Hopefully I will be able to begin a buildlog of the case sometime in winter. The fillport is going to stay where it is, as I will (hopefully) be able to take off all sides without too much hassle.
    Glad you like the idea!

Still a month to go, luckily. ;) How about more than 5 pictures this time as everybody is going to post more anyway? Let's say as many pictures as needed, but the number should be within within reason of course. That way it would be easier to highlight little details.

That looks seriously cool Dark! Dual mini-ITX rig? May I cast my vote for you now already?:D
