    From the Beeb:

UK government scientists have given a cautious thumbs up to mobile phones and transmission masts.

A report from the Advisory Group on Non-Ionising Radiation says there is no evidence they harm health.

However, the scientists said more research is needed before they can be absolutely certain there is no risk.

The report is based on a review of all of the scientific research into mobile phone safety published over the past three years.

    Full story here

But it's not a definite - "More research is needed". If more research is needed to be sure, why publish these results? Pressure from the phone companies? :eyebrow:

Because they did a study and they need to publish the results, whatever they are.

No one does a study and swallows the results just because they are not 'absolutely' certain about something.

If many more studies all come to the conclusion that they are more or less safe, then they will be assumed to be safe. Whereas if they all didnt publish their results because they are not absolute, there would be no more info than there was before the results of the study was published.

And almost definitely there was some funding from some telephone companies, although I doubt they messed with the results or anything. It wouldnt work in their best interest if they did and something leaked out.
