Don't they require separate covers like the nokia 820? Not a fan of covers (prefer a nice leather pouch), so having it built-in is nice.

Not difficult, but it's one of those things that's just lovely to have. It's especially nice for me atm, because my sleeping patterns are a mess (going to bed at 5am and getting up gone midday), so my gf is asleep with the light off when I go to bed. Not having to fumble in the dark, getting the usb plug the correct way round, is extremely nice.

Gotta admit, the price of the Nokia charging plates etc. are a little excessive. I wouldn't have purchased one at the £60 they are asking. Hopefully some fully compatible 3rd party ones will come out soon, and I'll get another one to sit on my computer desk, or a holder for the car.

I've had the galaxy nexus and now I have the nexus 4 and both have been brilliant. No need to ever worry about updates.

The HTC One is beautiful and the build quality excels the nexus line up, but unforuntally HTCs track record has been poor with updates.

EDIT: You say you found the build quality of the HTC one poor? In what way?

All these people banging on about updates, blimey, I'm still on Android 2.3, this hasn't really limited what I can run, it's only the power under the hood that cause issues and that will likely be the case in the future, any of the new high end android phones pack enough cores and Ram to see you through for a few years I'd imagine, even if they stuck on 4.2.

Personally looking at the S4 myself as some of my handywork is in there but do fancy the Xperia Z, I like its robustness and styling, though a buddy that owns one is constantly complaining he can't hear people on it when its windy, no doubt due to the waterproofing.

Going to wait it out until they are not the latest and greatest see if the price adjusts, they cost a fair bit at the mo and I'm stuck in a contract.

I'm currently really taken by the xperia z. The fact that I can be really mean to it and it will still work as it's meant to is just great, and unlike anything I'm used to currently. I'm currently on my 4th iPhone touch screen in just over 18 months!

Turns out the whole capacitive touch (or any kind of touch for that matter) doesn't work too well with a severed ribbon cable!

I love how blackberry has not been mentioned once. I have to admit that I still love the physical keys.

Just thought I'd update this thread.

I bought lots of phones. Lots.

    I currently have my trusty-yet-boring iphone5, another nexus 4, and a galaxy S4.

The s4 is pretty crap. I know it's high res, but that means that games run worse than on the nexus, the phone feels super cheap, and it's just not as good as I'd hoped. Touchwiz is terrible, too. The screen is fab though, if you can excuse it being a bit cool colourwise. Wouldnt know it has so much power from using it.

The N4 currently has my simcard in it. It's not perfect, but I do like how much I can tweak things. It's currently running Cyanogenmod.

The iPhone5 is still my daily. I get bored once every few days and chuck my sim back in the N4, but my heart is never in it fully. The iPhone just works, the apps are better quality and games run better. Only downside is the tiny (comparatively) screen and lack of customisations.
