Oh great and powerful bit-tech readers, what should I ask santa for this Christmas and birthday, (3 days now :thumb: ). I am aiming to buy 2x 8800gt and slap em in SLi, but for that I require a new mobo. I then thought is it worth upgrading my proccessor too, as at the moment I am lumbered with a 64x2 5200. For the proccessor and mobo, I have a budget of 250ish. Any ideas? Many thanks

I'd be tempted to go for a Q6600, and the appropriate motherboard, nvidia chipset obviously...

possibly a 680i LT? or save slightly/put towards the budget yourself and get the full 680i

Again, I will ask, how big is your display?
Anyway, don't bother with a CPU upgrade, although Intel is quicker, it isn't enough to justify the extra cost.

    Hey,
Ive decided to get a new mobo for the quad core i plan on getting after Christmas with the money i get.
So for Christmas ive ordered -
    Scythe Mine Rev-B Socket 478, 754, 940, 775, 939 & AM2 CPU Cooler
Asus P5N-E SLI 650i Socket 775 PCI-E Onboard Audio ATX Motherboard

It was a total of £100 so i should get a little extra money check out the motherboard my mate said it can easily handle a quad and for the price its great.
    Hope this helps.
