EDIT: Next question is about MB

I apologise for this question, but I am basically new in that:

Is there any Motherboard which can run 4 Ata133 HDDs and 2 optical drives or I must run the HDDs on SATA? A long time ago I read an article with comparsion, but I cant remember the details.

    Please jog my memory :eyebrow:

Hi, I am planing one Big mod, but i have a some questions that need answering :D The first is about PSU:

I want to run: AMD FX series CPU
    GeForce 6800 series GPU
    4 HDDs
    2 Optical Drives
    4 Cold Cathodes
    about 30 leds
    VFD
    8 Fans
    Enheim 1048 Pump

and I want to overclock the hardware to its edge :naughty:

Is 500W PSU enough or I have to buy more "powerfull" one?

    Thanks a lot

    500W Qtec - probably not.
    A real 500W PSU - yes.

QTec is a brand that labels it's PSUs higher than they actually are.

You'd be better going with a quality brand such as Antec, Enermax, Tagan :) .

I would like to use ModRight Ultra X-Connect PSU.

I asked this question because I want to know if dual PSU is wasting money for me or good solution.

I wouldn't say it was necessary at all. Nvidia recommend a 350W PSU for the 6800U, 500W should be plenty.

For a truly fantastic (and spendy) PSU please consider the
PC Power and Cooling 510. It is sleeved, offers over volt protection,
low distortion, and plenty of leads.

    PC Power and Cooling 510

It has a maximum rating of 650 watts, but the unit is rated at 510 watts.

A Tagan 480W PSU or the like should handle that.
