I am looking for a Socket 754 option for my next comptuer upgrade. http://www.giga-byte.com/MotherBoard/Products/Products_Spec_GA-K8NS Pro.htm is my choice. Can I use a GeForce 6800 GT with that board? It says Expansion Slots 1. 1 x AGP slot (8x/4x-AGP 3.0 compliant), supports 1.5v display card only. about halfway down the page, and I don't know is my GeForce 6800 GT is a 1.5v display card or not.... http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=14-130-203&depa=0 There's the card that I want to buy.
In terms of the actual AGP cards only the ancient (eg Voodoo) ones use 3.3v, generally anything AGP4x or AGP8x will be 1.5v (AGP8x use 0.8v signalling IIRC). For mobo AGP slot problems you have to go back to Skt7 days, well apart from a brief incompatibility between the then new AGP8x gfx cards and the AGP8x VIA KT400 chipset. So any remotely modern AGP gfx card will work happily with any remotely modern AGP mobo slot. So the important thing is YES, those will work together!
