Whilst installing my modded q-tec PSU (added a rheostat to control fan speed) my precious vaio picturebook found itself beneath my feet....

Not really a failed mod, but I needed to share....

I don't think I'll ever forget that cracking sound beneath my feet.

I for some reason don't have permission to send PM's(!?)

Hopefully my insurance will pay for a new one or at least repair it (thank god for accidental damage) so for the moment I'll have to keep it as is. Depending on the outcome if the claim I'll let you know.

Well after stepping on my Pioneer DVD, and this laptop, I would say that the floor is not the best place to keep things.

(But then again it's the only work area I got)

Yup, I think everyone has stepped on something important at one time or another on the floor. Just be happy it wasnt a nice fat screw that found itself imbeded in your foot - not that I would know anything about that :(

Actually on second thought maybe a screw would be better then cracking your viao.

It appears my insurance company will pay for either a repair or replacement but I need to get a quote.

Does anyone know where would I should go to get one? I'm fairly sure PC World won't do that kind of thing, and I need somewhere that can get hold of a suitable replacement.

I just popped into PC World (scary as it may be) and they gave me a quotation for a replacement straight away.

Hopefully (fingers crossed) I'll be getting a new C1-MHP

AHHHH!!!:waah: :waah: :waah: These kind of things just make me sooo sad! I managed to deeply scratch the LCD of my old Vaio. I had just ruined my 30 gig HDD and was really pissed... So I took a coin and threw it right across the room to get rid of my agressions (I had to throw or destroy something!:D). And that ******* coin hit my fairly new laptop right in the middle of the LCD:waah: :waah: It had a really deep dent/scratch in it, however, fortunatelly there was no major damage to the screen (I had only thrown a small coin equivilent to a 10cent piece). However, I HAAAATE that scratch!!!:wallbash: :grr: :( Yet it does comfort me, that other people do even more damage to their notebooks:D
