sorry dude, but making a car look like that should be a criminal offence!

subtle is good, and that ain't subtle at all!

Thats not Gibbo's (techie bloke at OcUK) old car is it? I think he used to have a purple 205 GTI, somewhat similar to that...

Personally the cars not to my taste, and the colour does it no favours at all, but I've seen worse.

At least the mods on that appear to have been installed with some care and the finish is relatively good, unlike a lot of the modded cars you see with really crap poorly fitted body kits, bits hanging off, and the ones that have been lowered (sorry, 'slammed') so far that speed bumps knock the bean can exhaust off and rip the cheap unpainted, primed fibreglass splitter to shreds, and the wheels rub the arches all the time, and the car handles like a whale.....

If that car wasn't purple I think it would actually be nice. The mods look decently done and don't completely change the shape of the car (nova's with massive jap style bumpers anyone?).

There are some nice bodykits out there, but it only works on the right car, personally I like to keep the car pretty standard, a nice set of alloys maybe or some side skirts.

Theres nothing worse than seeing a 1l Nova with a whale tail, 18" chromed alloys and bonnet scope. WHY.

In fact there a Fiesta just down the road from me, the guy must have spent a fortune on it and the work is very professional, but it looks bloody stupid, I'll see if I can get a pic.

yeah the colour doesnt really help, but at least everything is fitted nicley. i think either black or a dark green would look nice.

it was gibbos , i herd he was trying to sell it, he must of sold it then.

yes , whats under the bonnet does matter, thats why there is a 1.9 gti that does 0-60 in 7.8 seconds. not bad for the size of the car , and plus , it was made in 1992.

anyone got any good pics of nicley modded cars, or jst of nice cars at all, or links?( not like the one Atomic added :jawdrop: )

It would get to 60 even quicker if it didn't have all that crap polyfilla'd to it and proper sized wheels.

no, acctuly some of the bumpers wegiht less than standard ones, which means its lighter. plus, alloys , that are wider than normall wheels , and tyres newer than standard ones , wud give it more grip, and better handerling

    Wrong.

Large alloys completely screw up a cars geometry, FUBAR the handling and increase acceleration. Fact.

A 1900cc FWD car does NOT need 10" wide rear wheels. Fact.

...Do F1 cars have rubber band tyres on giant rims...?

(The reason that touring car type racing cars have large rims and thin tyres is that they are trying to get the largest contact patch possible within the regulations. You'll also notice that they run incredible amounts of negative camber at the front end, have really high spring and damper rates. All geared toward getting the best performance from a set of regulations. Slicks as well. Can you honestly say that ANY road car benifits from such a set up? Ignoring what you read in Max Power or what you heard from the guy down the pub.)
