Development "Modders of the world Unite!" A new dot com

Hey guys,
Any of you guys frequenting the Modding forum would have read my thread on "Anyone live in th US?" Located
Here

My initial idea was to create a website where modders can talk, consult, and share ideas of new projects to attempt. The website name is still undecided, a lot of people seem to like the sound of ModThis.com My original plans were to build some killer rigs involving watercooling, windows, lighting, LEDs, custom electronics, etc.. and sell them locally. However as most of us live all over the US and over seas, I have changed my ideas to create a website with FAQs, tutorials, and of course a list of each modder that has joined the group and what they are currently selling/working on. Each modder would be responsible to buy/sell their own products through the website. We all know that the interest in modding is out there and there is a lot of talent which could be very profitable off of people who are not.

I have already created a head banner but noting is locked in yet. I need someone to help out with php programming and the html code itself. Graphics I can handle but of course all help is welcome. Please respond to this thread if your interested in the idea and or helping to make it happen.

I'm interested, is it mainly USA though?

 

No its not just USA driven. Anyone from around the world can partipate in this.

The whole idea behind this is to get a couple people from each state/town/etc. to create quality mods and sell them to buyers close by.

That would be a great idea, kinda like helping people save shipping time and costs since hopefully there might be a "franchise" modder near their area (or is that how it works?). Since there's selling involved, what happens to the profit? Does it go to the modder or to a pool of some sort?
And about the name of the site, Modthis.com, I saw a site before, I think it was mod-this.net or something. just a heads up.

 

I'm not an expert but i'll do it. I also got a good layout if you need one that is being finished off by me as soon as i can get these gifs sorted

The profit that each modder makes would be their own, of course I would hope they would use it contribute to more modin projects or possible some cool stuff for the site.

Thx for the heads up on the similar site. Do you have a better suggestion for a site name? I still have an open mind on what a slogan / site name will be.

 

Nice site, however I dont praticaully care for the blue.. doesnt seem very appealing.

Is this your site? If so can there be a color change and possible be a little more sophisticated?

like ur design so far. needs a little more work though. maybe a smaller banner. it's still too soon to tell. think the site should actually have something in it to be able to decide on a design.

i don't think my site building abilities are advanced enough for the job, but i could help on maintening the site after it's finished, or by giving design opinions along the way.

about the name, if it's going to be a global organization, it should have a name like "modersnetwork.com" or "moders.net" something more group oriented.

 

What PHP do you want coded?

 

I have some great ideas on what to do but I have no clue on how to code it.

I would want signin with lots of little things, I dont even know really. I just know that you can do a lot of cool things with php
