    that is a very nice first post,

    knowing it is a compaq all you need to do is add a non compaq piece of hardware, kind of autoprotection system, that is what the 2 blocks of c4 under the motherboard are for, didn't you read the manual ?

    the case explosion was basically a flashpot; a large charge (made of blackpowder) and a bag of gasoline. the monitor had 2 smaller flashpots in it and a "special pyrotechnic device" made of blackpowder and a metal cylinder sealed at both ends. everything was set off electrically using model rocket engine ignitors. the blast in the case actually broke the table.

    it was just a little "special pyrotechnic device"... about 4 inches long.
