Modding Modding a Farnell LCD- how?

    dont know about the led's, Id assume it wont be too easy but as far as the film, you can find links in the LCD faq or go to your local high end camera shop and ask them, they should be able to get some for you

    You sure it has a backlight? I think the datasheet is misleading and it doesn't... think I had 5 of those once :)

    If it dosen't have a backlight, is there a way to add one using LED's from the side?

    (or from the back? maybe using semi-transparent film?)

    The whole idea of the LCD is so I can see my system temps while playing Unreal at a dark LAN party :)

    LED backlighting it will be hard. For side lighting you need something to make the light go forwards (a sheet of perspex with shaped cut into it normally) and for under LEd lgihting you need a sheet of leds in the colour you want that'll fit...

    The easiest way to add a backlight will be to mount some EL sheet under there. You'll get any colour you want this way, but I don't gaurentee the display will have good contrast if you use anything other than green.
