    Some Bend and Some Crack!

I had an ugly ATX Case that I had bought at bestbuy they only had two cases so I pick the ugly one over the horrible one. After 6 months of pain they open a PC club close to where I live so I went to buy another case I was quite happy that I woun't have to look at the other ugly case. I got home I took my computer apart the mother board has alot of dust so I was taking it outside to hit it with some compres air can. After I had cleaned it I was picking the motherboard from the table and I just heard it crack. I took a look and in the middle of the board it had an inch long crack.

the reason it cracked was that I had a massive heatsink/fan, you guys have seen the the P4 heatsinks that are HUGE!. so when I picked it up from the side with less weight the board try to bend and I guess it succeded and it cracked. So I had go buy another mobo.

That must have been one helluva heavy heatsink on the board.

Yeah p4 heatsinks do have some weight on them, or any modern processor heatsink for that matter. I think the stock cooler itself is just shy of 0.5Kg so if you try to pick up your mobo fromone edge with that kinda weight on one side nasty things are gonna happen.

Heh. When I pick up a P4 mobo, I always lift it by the heatsink.

Better yet take the heatsink OFF before you start playing with the motherboard.
