I have a Linksys AG241 wired ADSL2 modem & 4 port Router which has suddenly started locking up for no apparent reason. It first happened last night and its happened again twice in the last 20 mins :S
The unit just locks up completly and won't respond to anything. Pinging it or any other system on the network gives a 'Destination host unreachable'. The activity lights are still flashing. The only way I can get it back is to power it off for a minute, then it works as normal.
Any ideas what it could be?

My Linksys BEFSR41 did this same thing. I raised it off of the shelf a little to make sure it was getting good air circulation and that seemed to help. Never got around to trying a fan or anything on it....it somehow managed to lose the ability to do dhcp. So I replaced it with a D-Link. :miffed:

Never thought of it getting hot :) Ive turned it on its side now and it seems to be a little cooler to the touch, have to wait and see if it helps. Thanks :thumb:

I tought this was an easy thread, I wanted to say strap it to your desk... but you didn't mean that kind of falling over ;)

I have it with my Dlink too, heat I guess... Maybe a firmware update might help?
