News Modern Warfare 2 PC player limit slashed

When I graduated from College 8 years ago and got a real job, I said "Alright, I'm not a broke ass student or a kid anymore, its time to support the game industry I love. From now on, buy the game, or not. No piracy" And it worked wonderfully. When Steam arrived, it worked even better because I only had to go to one place to install all my games. COD:4 single player rocked, and I enjoyed the multiplayer for a while (before I went back to BF2 again ). And I was looking forward to MW2 in hopes the singleplayer would be good, and I could get my money's worth on the multiplayer. now it sounds like the singleplayer is the only potential good thing about it. I don't want to play 9v9 on a tiny map! That's why I went back to BF2 (32v32 Cheesecake). I will be voting with my wallet on this one. I'll be waiting until I can buy it used at Gamestop so Infinity Ward won't make a cent off me. What IW is doing to PC gamers is shameful and lazy business practices. I will not advocate pirating a game ever, but this is very tempting...

but.. in modern warfare are you seriously saying they built those maps for 64 players? That's bulls**t,

The Dev's have just got lazy and don't want to build the maps any bigger, it doesn't take long. just expand it out. and copy + paste a few more buildings and you will have at least 10k happy people. willing to buy this game! just because you took a extra 10 minutes into building the maps a bit bigger!,

8v8? WTF is going on here?, sure console games 8v8, maybe 20 people max for the xbox 360 , ps3 because they will run like crap if anymore people join, but PC come on? WTF is the point of playing a game with 9 players in?

Don't get me wrong but the best thing i like about COD4 is Team Death match with 40 people in it, Gives you a Challenge,

TBH. i don't think i will be buying this game anymore, not after all the **** they have ripped out of the PC version. just because they are lazy, this is a big down fall for PC. most gamers like alot of players in servers!

Still a day till release what else are they gonna rip out of it before it goes on sale?

It seems to me this is going to be a self-fulfilling prophecy - IW don't want to make PC games any more because no-one buys them, so they make a game no-one will buy?

 

if they dont want to make pc games whats the point of even starting it on PC?

why not just spend the money they used to produce this game to make the 360 / PS3 Version better with more functions than COD4? not take away functions!

They complain about not getting money from games.. but who the f**k is gonna buy a **** game?

insted of ripping out all the good features, and putting it some other shitty things, and then lowering the player cap,if they just redone MW but put in a few new game modes, new weapons, new perks, and maybe a new feature like maybe being able to run and slide or somthing, everyone would be happy!

Now, it’s not this blog’s intention to post every little bit of gaming news (or is it?), but this is a more signal event than all the PR out there. Modern Warfare 2 for the PC, which infamously lacks dedicated servers, a console, the ability to kick players, and other things integral to a good PC game. Infinity Ward, maddeningly apathetic to the needs and requests of their users, has said that no changes to the stated areas are forthcoming.

Well, you can’t keep a good PC gamer down. Certain cracks already allow some online play, and now the console has been enabled, allowing players to kick, change POV and FOV, and presumably do most of the stuff Infinity Ward decided had to stay in the cookie jar. Tut tut, developers. You didn’t see this coming? You could have made it easier on yourselves, but instead you turned a whole segment of your market against you.
