Yeah its only one of the most profitable game series of all time, who would of thought theyd make another...
Nope - I have done with it now. Last chance for me was BLOPS. I bet they try and increase the price-point again as well.
Gamestop over here are listing MW3 at €60. Not a hope of getting me to buy that, let alone anything at that price. I wouldn't even buy BF3 at that price.
Easy Sarcasm. No wonder everyone has being given you digs on this thread. You deserve them with chat like this.
So there's 2 teaser trailers that show absolutely nothing and a release date that's conveniently a week after the release of battlefield 3?! Am I right in thinking that Activision is simply pissing on BF3's parade? Surely, with the enormous base of guaranteed sale from the masses that blindly buy every iteration, their goal should be creating an innovative and improved experience. It seems to me their only goal is a date deadline. It doesn't exactly bode well.
*Fixed*: There are 4 trailers that show absolutely nothing. (France & Germany versions of the above posted America & UK trailers) Also Activision release CoD at the same time every year... has nothing to do with BF3.
I don't mind that they're making another one. I had the original COD1 and 2 for PC, thought they were brilliant, and then bought MW2 and thought that was quite good in an 'American movie with a fun but honestly unbelievable story' kind of way. I also have BFBC2 and thought that was a lot of fun, in a different way. I like to play MW2 (single player of course, the multiplayer is full of too many morons unfortunately) when I want a fun, slightly more 'arcadey' vibe, and BFBC2 when I want a bit more of a 'soldier sim' affair on multiplayer. I think that there is plenty of room for COD and BF and that both have pluses and minuses (sic?). I am more interested in an IW than a Treyarch though. Ultimately? Although I must admit to salivating very much over the BF3, I would like to reserve judgement on both that and the next COD until a respected reviewer tells me whether it is any good or not. Who knows, the next COD may be amazing on all platforms?
I don't understand all the hate in this thread. Are you being forced to buy this game, shackled to your console or PC and made to play it for six hours a day under pain of death? It might not be the game you want, but so what? Don't buy it. Don't play it. It really is that simple.
People who play BF:BC2 should not be saying cod sucks. IMO BF:BC2 is better than COD, but really the games are completely different. BF has an element of teamwork and use of the correct weapon etc, but COD is more of a run as fast as you can shooting everywhere, trying to get the best kd kind of game. Personally I didn't like BLOPS (although I enjoyed MW and MW2 (one on pc and one on PS3) till everyone started hacking), and I hope that MW3 will be good but I'm not getting my hopes up. And the trailers were rubbish IMO. It was just activision saying "COD still exists! Get excited!".
Crikey man, don't know where you shop, but there is no way in hell that it should be. I haven't seen any other AAA title that has had the same price tage as the newer CoD games. Even BF3 will be maximum €45 over here. Thankfully I'll be picking it up for €36.35 including shipping for the LE
I wouldn't waste my time pissing on the game. Seriously, after Black Ops, I am done with CoD. Utterly and completely. I'd rather spend my €36 on BF3 where there is actually teamwork, squad mechanics and nicer graphics. €5 less and will more than likely have substantially more depth to the game that a mere fragfest. Black Ops and MW2 were fine as shallow fragging sessions, but it wore thin online after 15-20 minutes for me and just became tedious. Hit detection in BLOPS was appalling as well as the lag, the 'lobby' system in MW2 was attrocious and the story has gone beyond retarded. If whoever is working under the banner of "Infinity Ward" these days can actually salvage what started off as a fantastic man-shoot in Modern Warfare, then kudos to them, but I will not get this game by any means unless it is maybe €5 which should take a decade or so at this rate (considering that Modern Warfare is still listed at €25 on Steam).
when i was saying that is the price i meant RRP. Amazon.de lists it as 60 euros. I'm actually curious as to how you get it for 45 euros.
€45 is the average price in my local Symths Toystore over here. It's one of the last 'cheap' retail stores that I can buy PC games from any more. Though with the gamestore up and running, I prefer to get from there now as it's about €15 cheaper still. Actually, they list MW3 as €45 as well - http://toys.ie/Call-of-Duty-Modern-...essionID=af6ec49a-a863-42b1-bde4-8dfd4f51f2fe BF3 is also listed as €45 - http://toys.ie/BATTLEFIELD-3-LIMITE...essionID=f5c3cb12-9bcb-416d-b982-b2530cf83f29 When I was asking around about Brink and a few other titles, €45 was the average figure. Naturally, with the game so far away from release, it is subject to change. On the UK amazon site (where I would get any Amazon purchase from as there is none for Ireland), it would come to about 35 sterling which is just shy of €40 including shipping. I'm rambling a bit here, sorry. Made lunch coffee a bit strong. Basically, all new releases are generally under €50 over here, but I still think that is extorionate and I refuse to pay that much money. I can get what I want usually through the Gamestore and my business remains there. The fact still remains that I will not be getting MW3 as the last 2 releases have been massive let-downs.
