Who is going to represent? MODFEST 2005 Man, what I would not give to go and see some of the modding that will be at that event!
that would be crazy, at the lans i go to (maybe like 100 people) im the only one who actually mods, (let alone knows about modding) so whenever i go people are like woah!!!
there is that difference between people who mod and people who just use a computer..., i know what you mean, i also hate at lans having to help people w/ the branded compaqs and dells configure them to be networked, ohh the plethora of stupid firewall applications and idiot spyware wreak havoc on any attempts at that....
yup, alot of people have dells and stuff, and every one else has a chieftec case with ccfls thats about it
Don't you guys in the US have QuakeCon and Lanfest and about 100 other huge big lans with modding competitions? It's certainly a big leap for Modfest last year they were in a PC World car park iirc.
Texas is a long way from Maryland though. But yeah - there are plenty of similar (or better) events Stateside
Here in the UK the PC modding scene has only just gone "mainstream" I say that because Custom PC has only been going about a year I think. Lets hope it just gets bigger and these events become even better. I know that having to go to trade shows and twarling though hundreds of cheap tat products to find a golden idea is getting tiresome. I'll be there, although not in a competing level (I volenteer to admin one of the tournaments).
bah only 2 hours! that's nothing! I know what the guy means about up there about going to lans and being the only one to mod stuff, makes me feel sad
sorry to resurect suck an old thread but the mod fest never happened as no one from the lan wanted to be seperated from there buddys as if u enetered mod fest u had to be sat in a sepecial section Phil
