    well, since i want to get deep into this, i figure a modlab is a practical project to get going, i like the guide here
    and think i will build something similar, but i'm a total noob with electronics. I have what i think will make a good powersupply, but maybe someone with more expertise can look at the specs and tell me? it's detailed at this site

    ok, so i'm not THAT much of a noob, i have added a backlight to my GBA, and swapped out the power LED for a new one, but a project like this modlab is more than i've done before.

    but thanks for the suggestion

    I just use a small PSU board(from an old external CD-ROM) mounted in a case from a broken ATX PSU.
    Don't bother trying to build your own PSU, the PSU I use for testing circuits is very complex and has lots of custom, hard-to-find parts.
    BTW, my friend Christina Mahoney designs PSUs, and designing PSUs is not an easy task!

    I like that first link, very nice, he should have used misted perspex though, would have looked much nicer.

    I just use an old atx power supply, get +/-12 or +/-5 off easy :)

    I just use a old AT powersupply. :D
    They cost nothing since everybody just throws them out because everybody uses ATX nowadays...
