I have a 90 degree molex connector that I just rewired, but I'm not sure that I did it right and I don't wanna blow the hard drive or something.
    Code:
      _________________
     / [COLOR=DarkRed]o[/COLOR] o o [COLOR=Yellow]o[/COLOR] \
    |___________________|
Let's say that that is the port on the back of the hard drive. From left to right I have Red, Black, Black, and Yellow. Is that the way that it should be?

Yes that seems fine if I've understood you correctly :thumb:

Any risk of something being damaged if we're both wrong? :)

Yes :p Okay, hold the molex and look at it from above, connecter facing away from you, the correct way up. It should go... red-black-black-yellow.
I'm pretty sure I understood what you said first though so it should be fine.

Simply compare it to another un-touched molex connector. The housings are polarised so there can't be much room for mistakes.

Going off your first picture that'll kill the HDD, the yellow and red need swapped :blah:

Compared to the picture that alexwilks88 posted, my molex connector looks like that. So if the picture is right, then I should be in the clear.

Male plug. "cut edges" facing upwards, plug facing towards you.

Female plug (this is a "fan molex split", but you could see it as the molex connector on the HD. "cut edges" facing upwards, plug facing towards you.

or as a last ditch, you can always look at the PCB of the drive below the connector, or check the technical specs in the manual :p
