moniter to bright

i want to do tuns of modding especialy with lites but when i turn on my moniter it lights up my whole room. i dont whant to have to get a nother since this one was a good deal but i also want to do some modding can enyone help i tried every thing with the adjust ments of the brightnes and tint but im thinking it has to be some sort of electricle problem

 

Monitors tend to do that

If you can use it in a dark room, its not too bright

 

i was hinking of getting some tint but man it is bright my other moniter can go from black to picture to wight this one goes from bright pic to wight to blinding

 

Not sure what video card your using but my 5900 has an option to adjust contrast, brightness and all that jazz on the video card too. I had to use it to try to even out the brightness on my dual LCDs - couldnt get it even close using the monitors controls but adjusting it on the vid card too got me real close. Mine also had a sharpness control which helped alot as my second monitor was a little fuzzy looking on the text. Give it a look see bradda.

 

Try lowering the "white point" or "white balance" if the monitor has that control. What make/model is it?
