just bought an LG flatron, and if i open up a black window like the dos prompt, the rest of the screen suddenly goes brighter...

is this a fault or a bloody annoying trait?

    cheers

It's poor power supply regulation. Typical of cheap monitors....

You'll probably also notice that the edges of the screen move as you open and close bright windows. However, since there's no damper wires, I'm sure you won't mind this defect.....

this monitor didnt come cheap, £210 for a 17 inch is quite pricey in my books...but the brightness effect is terrible...i have REAL cheap ass monitors in my house and they dont do that at all and yeah youre right, the edges of the screen also move a lot.

How can LG market a product like this? surely they noticed this brightness "trick" ? Its bloody awful...nice sharp image, but there really is almost no brightness reuglation....what a load of fuccing 5hit

lol....everyone loves having "features" like that...did you know that with an IBM hdd you get the guranteed death feature....

that is paying a lot for a 17" especially if its crap....send it back and say its faulty....

u can pick up 19" ctx from dabs for 160....they are quite good....but its worth spending extra on your monitor as thats wat you see the most of ur computer....
