    Rofl, props, props, ok?

Now how are you powering that? Are you running a cable to the PSU?

can you just get some power from the monitor itself?
i mean, just knowing where is some current flowing and measuring it, placing some resistors and you got the power needed to turn on your light and fan.. is this logic or is it just stupid?

wow, that is very bright, and i would not try testing anything in the monitor, they have like 10kv running throught them, i would just get external power it would be much safer

ok heres the scooop (ill get pics when i get home from school)

the light is running off a "test" psu (w/o a mobo connected).....

the fan i bought came with bare wires and thats it......so i took some handy dandy speaker wire and extended the wires thro the back grill of the monitor and as some of us know a molex connector runs at the wrong voltage to power a fan thats y most have resistors built in and/or a molex pass thro.....so i am running off a 6 volt battery.......

THE MAIN THING TO KEEP SAFE IN THIS PROJECT......pay attention to where things will go when u put the case back on cause if it is touching nething ne the monitor u could get seriuosly hurt or die

its not scary to take apart a monitor
the interals are kinda heavy though, and its akward to move them

Gonna have to move this one across to Modding - The Project Logs forum is for just that - project logs. As this is a finished mod, it'll have to go in Modding.

    1) the heat now can't escape from the top? but,
    2) the emi/rfi/whatever can?
yeah, it looks pretty, but it seems a bit foolish
