    Hi guys,

Just came in to some money and have a little bit to spend on a new display.

Was just reading Bit's review of the NEC MultiSync EA231WMi, and it's now down to £270 over at pcbuyit. Is this still a good investment in terms of monitorage, or is there something better that I should be spending ~£300 on?

    Any advice is appreciated.
    Thanks a lot!

To be honest, what I'm looking for is the best possible monitor I can get for £300, or thereabouts. If I can get an IPS, more the better. I spent £150 on a cheap monitor before, it's never worth it. May as well get the best you possibly can, since you're always using your monitor. Never skimp on peripherals!

Jbloggs, thanks for that. I did see the review for the NEC, but I'm afraid that site sort of makes my head spin. I'll definitely consider that HP, but the crap black depth and contrast worries me a bit.

That's a definite yea to the NEC.

I ummed and ah'd for ages between the NEC and the Dell 2209wa. I got the NEC last week (£292 inc vat and next day delivery from PCbuyit) and been immensely pleased with myself/choice all weekend.
