    Hey.

i spent around...300 odd quid on my current 19 inch monitor about a year ago. No-one justifies having a 8800GTX on an 19 inch monitor. So, its monitor upgrade time! i had saved 400 pounds over this year in change to buy a new card, but instead ive brought an opty 170, and i have 300 pounds left to buy a 22 inch monitor.

Monitor specs and that are the kind of thing you have to invest time in to really know what your getting. the monitor im using now was overly priced, because then i couldnt really go wrong. there are plenty of 22 inch monitors, and i desperately need help selecting one.

im still looking up every monitor, but any suggestions would be so, so much helpful. I only game, and play fps. I currently have a x1900xt.

    thanks in advance.

    Kye.

all the reviews are no good, since there alllll good monitors.

some are 20.1 inch, with a huge native res, some are 22 inch, with a much smaller res. i can spend weeks and weeks trying to figure out whats best for gaming.

what monitors, the best 3 there, that are under 400 pounds, for gaming. image quality, high res, good timings. something that would be perfect for a GTX.

its either the Dell Ultrasharp 2407WEP, or Samsung SM-225BW. If i got the samsung, i could get a 8800GTS with it. If i got the dell, i would be running it on a x1900xt for a month or two. When i look at the other 22 inch monitors, the price difference between the dell and the others is big. Im sure if i got the dell, i wouldnt regret it, well, just as long as i have the x1900xt.

I could do it if anyone would buy the x1900xt and a 19 inch viewsonic monitor, the stupidly expensive model :D

Yeah the Dells sure are more expensive than the other same sized displays, but still I haven't seen anyone complaining of one... Tough this may be caused by the fact that not too many buy them :)

Get a nec ore eizo there the best brands out there, olso if you get a vista ready screen it meens it can handle high definition.

i got this from a other thread:

It's important to know which tft panel the display has. There is different panels on the market like TN, MVA, PVA, IPS and S-IPS. TN is the cheapo one and I would stay away from displays using it. Displays with MVA and PVA panels are generally quite much better in terms of reproducing colors and contrast. The best one's are displays with IPS and S-IPS. They have the best color reproduciation and contrast and they and the newer ones are good for gaming too. Good models are:

    Viewsonic VP930 (19", MVA)
    Nec MultiSync 20WGX2 (20" wide, S-IPS)
    Benq FP241WZ (24" wide, S-IPS)
