    Hey guys,

Bit of a strange problem here.

I have just had to re-install windows due to a hard drive failing on me, and I have come to a weird problem.

My main monitor will decide to not pick up the signal from my pc after being in power save mode for long periods of time.

I have to restart the PC and physically unplug, and plug in the cable.

I am running a fresh install of MCE, using a 7900GS, and using Ultramon for dual monitor setup with my 40" Samsung HDTV as the secondary monitor.

As you can guess this is quite infuriating, and I wouldn't even know what to google for answers, so I am hoping someone has had a similar problem in the past?

    Cheers for any help guys.

I'm guessing everyone is as stumped as I am.

It hasn't happened again yet, but it is still highly irregular.

what version of mce are you running and is it fully patched?

i had a similar problem with xp pro where is would fail to boot after several sleep / wake cycles and soon discovered it was a known prob with xp sp2 (not sure if addressed in sp3).

does your machine fail to fully boot or simply not display the video - if the former focus your attention on microsoft and patch your system to latest or try latest gfx drivers if its the latter.

    good luck
