    Small update .

Midplate/floor cut from dark red tint 3mm acrylic, then covered in black vinyl film.

Covered with masking tape and then the pattern is drawn on. The pattern is the same design as the window cut on the side panel.

    Out with Mr.Scalpel :)

    Finished design

    Nice build :thumb:

When I read the title I thought it was going to be a 2001: Space Odyssey themed build

Glad to be on board again, it's coming along nicely and the LED strip looks great (an unbiased opinion if ever there was one...)
Don't think many would be brave enough for a Space Odyssey theme, you would always been wondering when (not if) it would say "I can't allow you to do that Dave".

    Another small update :)

Had time to sort the window to follow my original black/red design.

Black tint and Dark Red tint 3mm acrylic.

Missus had a bit of an accident, nothing serious, so i can't do anything too noisy at the moment hence the brief posts.

Should be back to normal next week,

    Cheers,

    Mark

That looks awesome Mark! I remember how you were showing me that you gonna do it, now I can see that was really cool idea with this vinyl film. I would like to see it in real.
Sorry to hear about your missus, I hope she gets better soon.

I used 4mm for my braiding as it was just single wires.

    Update time :)

As i've been on nursemaid duties looking after the missus, i've been confined to desktop mods - braiding and soldering etc..

Wasn't a great fan of the floppy bezel cover on the front of the case ( does anyone still use them ? )

The easy option would of been a fan controller or card reader to plug the space, but i wanted something subtle that kept the front smooth.

All the way from China, via an auction site, a simple USB HD44780 display

As with 99% of these, they are a blue display :(

Managed to find a Red on Black screen , so just needed to solder the screen to the USB circuit board

Then out with the hacksaw, ansd some dark tint acrylic to make the fascia

    And voila ;

The colour i wanted for the water loop was a deep red, or blood red.

So i contacted someone who clearly ( i'm sure there's a joke there ! ) knows his stuff when it comes to dyes - Mayhem Dyes.

No stranger to Bit-tech, Mick/mayhem was a great help and very kindly agreed to sponsor me what was needed.

I've spoilt the surprise now, but guess what's in the box ?

    Still wandering ?

A rainbow of liquid goodness :jawdrop:

Enough dyes for this build, and plenty more to experiment with, top stuff :)

    Lets meet the team

Should have some fun mixing them at the weekend, and fitting the water cooling.

    Back soon ( barring accidents ;) )

    Cheers,

    Mark

Hey Mark, I like that lcd. Looks cool. I wonder how that blood red will look like, I remember was looking for blood red for Cube ages ago and never found truly bloody color.
