    Good day

I have a couple of the Mooltipass mini BLE authenticators (1 in use and a backup) and I know some others here use the same units. I'm just wondering if anyone else who uses these has any issues with them.

Mine has locked up a couple of times and has now displayed an error code (#002) which has gone away with a hard reset, I'm currently awaiting a response from the support (which has come in while I type this, 3 mins response time). Apparently this fault is known and on the to fix list.

Just in case anyone seeing this is wondering, even without the prompt and reassuring response from support I would certainly recommend the mooltipass to anyone considering a new password management app. I find it far easier and more reliable than LastPass and without a subscription. Also I believe it to be far more secure

I have had a quick search of the forums and can only find the "FAO Gareth" thread that covers the original mooltipass hence the new post.

    Thanks Mike

    Hullo!
I don't know if it's the same error, but I've been seeing a #002 on-and-off. Mathieu actually sent me his USB analyser, and I've got it hooked up to capture the traffic when the error occurs - but because it's so infrequent I haven't been able to get a good capture yet.

Hopefully I do, and then Mathieu will be able to fix whatever's causing it!

Thanks for the response, it's Mathieu who has been replying today so fingers crossed the updates should fix the issues I've been having.

One other query do you get an error message along the lines of "multiple failed connections" showing on the display that appears to have no effect on the actual operation of the mooltipass?

I've had all of these issues with mine! More recently I've also seen it complain that the smartcard is invalid (this is why we make backups!). I don't often take the smartcard out, it's usually only when I'm at university and I need to go get a coffee or something.

As Gareth says though it's intermittent - I can't replicate any specific conditions that cause either 'error #002 please contact support' or 'many failed connections'. I haven't reported it for exactly that reason - I don't know what to tell them to re-create the error! Good to see I'm not alone though.

Never seen that one, even during beta-testing.

I have the mooltipass plugged into my corsair keyboard through a USB switch so possibly an issue there. I have just updated the bundles to 0.65 and 0.76 after contacting support so I'll see how it all works now. Any more issues and I'll use a dedicated usb port and see if that helps.

However I have already had a lock up that required a hard reset. :(
