    Obviously they wish to start completely screwing the consumer and want to make clear that no one owns movies anymore, with bluray and hddvd the gloves are off- you may lease a temporary license for viewing which may be revoked at the descresion of the "software provider". start paying up all you consumer sheep.

    Maybe the movies run as software? Like a movie built into Flash or something, so they will work in Japan?

    not forgetting how incredibly well priced they are for consumers.

    But im sure even if some idiot did want to buy blu-ray stuff they wouldn't have the free time to find it and the bank ballance to match it.

    once again i say to Sony:

    YOU ARE BIG IDIOTS!!!!!!!! the players are to cheap, i want to pay more for them!!!!!!!! and i want to pay more for movies that i dont own, they are to cheap now, and make consoles and BRD players uglyer!!!!!

    I don't think Sony will understand sarcasm. ;)

    Blu-ray just seems to become more and more of a joke as time goes by...
