Fix the smoker and we'll talk.
sometime the game would glitch and would let us play versus on a leg of death toll, then it would switch to no mercy or or blood harvest. but i can say death toll will be fun.
who says L4D is a masterpiece?
only multi player is good.

I know there is already at least one custom campaign, I played through it. You make sure everyone has the map and you do changemap in the console.
It feels like an unfinished game, but look at the past, with other Valve titles, and you'll see that Valve always gets new maps, new weapons, new achievements as time goes by... L4D as TF2 will never be "finished", they evolve with Valve and with modders thanks to the SDK.
One of the last patches fixed it/him for me.
He will never be fixed until his smoke does damage.

that's retarded, i can understand it attracting all zombies in vicinity to attack those coughing, but doing damage is a little much.
Interestingly, I've played a couple of games where at the finale the rescue vehicle never turned up, forcing us survivors to hold out against the infected for as long as we could (we probably would have quit and let them play, but they started trash talking us so we decided to hold out as long as poss). All of which sounds like Survival mode (and it was fun).
Maybe this is Valve's way of extending beta testing, randomly drop new game modes on people and see what they do?
It was never meant to be a single player game.
It had better be free!
The same can be said for Counter Strike.
Why is it retarded?
It only makes logical sense for it to cause damage. At the moment, it's useless. There's absolutely no point in the smoker actually releasing a smoker cloud when it is killed.
If there's one thing I cant stand, it's logical fallacies in games. Why does a car alarm attract zombies to the players, but a pipe bomb attracts zombies to the pipe bomb? Simply allowing the smoke to cause damage over time, will allow players to solve some of the problems currently plaguing the game, such as closet camping. It would create an entirely new way to play the smoker.
This concept is the general consensus of the Left 4 Dead community. We're all just waiting for it to happen.

Valve said in the dev commentary they kept the smoke as a visual indication that the smoker had been killed as he is often at a distance, which makes sense.
because if it just inflicted damage on the survivors it would lead to spamming, and we already have enough of that with players who don't know how to play hunters.
How can you spam as a smoker? WTF?
I agree that the smokers cloud should cause damage, most of the time you wont be affected by it, as the smoker drags from afar, but if you are in a room, or camping in a closet, it would be the perfect answer to being more effective.
No way does it need to be a big damage hit, but just one that makes the survivors think, **** we cant stay here in the closet so close together beating each other with the rear end of our rifles.
I just cant wait for the new stuff to come out, i still love the game but i want MORE COWBELL.
