ooooohhhhhh that irver 10gb beast is sooo nice. much better looking than a stormtrooper white ipod. and with the remote inline witht he headphones, that means it cold go in your pocket or back pack and ou dont hav to fiddle with the big thing to change songs or volume. darn thats nice.
Just like the remote on my iPod too? Was that sarcasm or something? Is an in-line remote an innovation on a personal media player? That iRiver thing looks nasty. All cheap and tacky lookin.
cheap and tacky? i think the ipod looks cheap and tacky tbh.. it looks like a white slap of plastic..nothing interesting to look it.
the new ones aren't as nice as the older ones were... i love my old 5gb one... the mechanical wheel just felt better
A mirror finished chrome back with a thick layer of lucite on stormtrooper white plastic is far from tacky imo
I know this is probably a silly question; but do you have to own a Mac to use an iPod and can you put MP3's on it instead of some crappy MAc format?

and you can be really vain and check yourself out in the mirror finish on the back They do look so lovely in real life though, and the dock! OMG it just slides in there beautifly and the iPod even chirps not like some "Dock" you get where you have to wiggle it to get it in there (please, don't be lame by throwing in sexual innuendos about what i've said above) Mcib, not sure about the output, although I am quite dissapointed with the headphones supplied. Although K showed us some headphones at the meet which might be a good idea.. as haz said. "ooh, it's like I'm having sex with my ear" But when you've got the dock plugged into a 90watt per channel class A amp and a pair of B&W's the output doesn't really matter.... I can still make eyeballs bleed
"Crappy Mac format"? That would be AAC then *shakes head* AAC is actually REALLY good quality!! It's a shame they come with Music Match cos lots of people don't change it. iTunes for Windows will be out soon though and then PC users can find out just how much it It is a shame the headphones let it down, but as mine had been pre-owned (for 48 hours so I still got a price reduction - woohoo) I didn't get the original earphones anyway, they gave me some Sony ones instead.
I donno, i just have something against white.. nearly all gadgets in my room are silver/black or pure black. It's just the way i am . But the iRiver has roughly the same features if no more of the iPod and the quality is good enough.. as long as i can hear it fine in my headphones i'm happy. It also has an optical in/out which is a very nice feature.
sorry - i didn't know it was a decent format; thought it would be a crappy format that was almost completely useless (like .wma files *spits*)
