Has to be the worst internet connection I've ever had to endure. Tethering my phone is faster!

I got Bell. I didn't want to go, but my mother can't afford Videotron anymore, and doesn't want me to split the bill.
BTW knuck, if you call Videotron, and say you want to cancel as it's too expensive, they will send you to a special department, where they can give you nice discounts... well you need to negotiate. I got the TVG 30 for 1 penny more than what you pay, per month. Of course, in order to get it, you need 3 services or more with them. And other rebates on the phone and TV (analogue) If you only have Internet.. they won't do anything.

It's useless for me to show you the god awful Bell, because, yes it will show me 10Mbps, but the DNS server (or the proxy used) is super crap. Every 5-6 pages, your web browser goes "Page not found" error, and you need to try again to have it working. (this is not a 'me only' problem, my father place has the same problem and so does friends, which they now switch to Videotron). And don't get me started with me trying to get Bell... they just don't want my money. It took them about 2 weeks to get me connected, and I still don't have TV. And the first tech broke my intercom of the building connections with the phone. And I still don't have Bell TV. Every time I call to have it, they tell me they will send a tech, and the tech doesn't show up (3 times), and when I call, they said that I CALLED and canceled.. WTF!

The Modern/Router is complete garbage. I am using my own router, so my home wireless is at least working fine (did the same at my father place). And they throttle like NO TOMORROW. Basically as soon as you download large files... let's say, I get Windows 7 ISO from MSDNAA, is starts fast, and then after 3-4 min it goes super duper slow... takes ages to get anything, no mater what protocol you use. Large files are throttled.

I warned my mother, but she doesn't want to listen to me, because he work colleges, which only visit the web once a year, says it's fine. So now she is regretting it as well. And now, as we left Videotron, they don't give any rebates to new customers.

    That is what Speedtest says:
But that is a complete lie. It feels like 3mbps per seconds on large files, and still a broken DNS server.
I do get the same results with Videotron speed test page (http://testvitesse.videotron.ca/index-en.html)

    meh I won't complain. I had a high speed (8Mbps) package + an additional 30GB (total 70) monthly bandwidth limit and it cost me 56$/month. I now have a 90GB limit and a 15Mbps connection for 55$/month

Yea, I saw that on Videotron website... their pricing doesn't make much sense.

Just no mater what. DO NOT GET BELL WTV the cost. You WILL seriously regret it. Much more than that bridge segment fall on your car, and I am not exaggerating. People who says that Bell is fine, does not use the internet.
