Right ive been asked by a friend to make him a gaming machine, i have all the other parts picked out i am just baffled by ye olde motherboards atm, im looking at either p35 or 680i but no idea which to go for so will stick and list and any suggestions appreciated...but only from the list as this is what is available to me!

    P35!

    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?GIG-35DS4
    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?MSI-P35P
    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?ASU-P5KD

    680i
    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?gig-n680&P=0
    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?ASU-P5N32E
    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?ASU-STRIKE (if stock comes in)
    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?XFX-680I
    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?EVG-680ILT

now it can be another board from the site as long as its in stock or instock soon, basically looking for the best gaming motherboard, for a intel chip and nvidia graphics card.

Now this is for gaming, only using 1 graphics card and price somewhere around 100-150ish max

so any thoughts feelings would be great :) thanks

I would go with one of the first two Gigabyte boards personally. I haven't really got any good reasons really, but their boards have been very good recently, their 965 boards were really good. :)

Giga DQ6, Asus P5KD, MSI P35P, any of the 680i's bar the P5N32E which isn't as wonderful. The Plus was good though.

    Depends what you want feature-wise.

That depends on weather you intend to run SLI gfx or not, if you do, go for the 680i, otherwise go for the P35, of cause its wise check over other features that you may require on the boards.
P35 overclocks well, where as the 680i not so well, but has support for SLI.

    isn't the P5N32e plus a 650i whereas a P5N32e a 680i? shouldn't the one without Plus be better?

i would go for the Gigabyte P35-DQ6. i've heard a lot of good things about them. and i may buy one if either my budget drops, or the X38-DQ6 don't reach UK in time (excluding OCuk)

out of interest, why have you got your heart set on Novatech

I'm using a Gigabyte P35 DS3R right now. It's a cheaper board with less features, but unless you want SLI graphics (Oh the extravagance...) or somesuch, it's a great board. Tons of SATA connectors, plenty of USB. No firewire, which is a downer. Durable and good on overclocking, too.

Hey Guys, I will aslo be in this same setup when X38 starts to roll out. I have never had bought Asus Motheboard and now I am really looking at them. I have heard a lot of good this about Asus's Motherboards. When the X38 start to come out I am look at either to buy Intel Based MB or Asus Based MB. Which one would you guys recommend? Also how long before we start to see High-End Motherboard for Asus. I am guessing that at Intel's Upcoming IDF, we might see more X38 Based MB's and Intel might finally release there New Motherboard for the X38 Chipset.

    P.S. Fusion
