Hey mother's day is coming. I want to buy a gift for my mother, something useful or something with special meanings. Any good ideas, waht do you intend to buy for your mother??
Heh, mothers day was over almost 2 months ago! Unless of course you are planning mothers day 10 months early. Something you created yourself always works well.
haha mothers day is on different days in some countries. 'First Sunday in May Hungary, Lithuania, Portugal, Spain' and plenty of other countries on the second sunday of may
Yeah, my sister was in America when Mother's day came, so she couldn't buy a card anywhere; had to make her own: Awww!
Hey I have found a deal on the A Letter to Mom pendant and poem, looks a good idea for mom's gift. The picture looks nice.
May 10th is Mother's Day in the US. Being a mother, I might be able to make some suggestions. What is your budget?
my mum and i have an understanding, that instead of a gift that i will put in some hours helping here get the house done up over the holidays, was her suggestion which i was glad about as im damm near broke, (student allowance enough to live off my a**)
I honestly have never been that sentimental for mother's day. However my presents always tend to Rock the house as far as what my mom is looking for. Before I had a job and money I usually just cleaned the house for a week and cooked. However after that: 2003: Computer 2004: Gift Card (She was in a different state) 2005: Kitchen Stuff for her new house (Mixer, Blender, Toaster Oven and Some Plates) 2006: Gift Card (Out of State Again) 2007: Gift Card This year I basically gave her a TV+DVD Player, and a digital camera. I'll probably still end up buying a gift card though.. Back on topic however, I've found that A card is nice to tell her how you feel, and the gift should be something she can use or enjoy. I've always figured a mothers day gift should allow her a respite from here normal routine and allow her to enjoy doing something else. Many times things like cleaning the house doing laundry and chores she might normally do, go a long way. Leave Jewelry for your Dad (to buy and give to her), or get something like a Mother's ring if you go that route. If you want something more sentimental, go for picture albums you've made yourself . Unless there are pressing issues, always go with a gift that is aimed for relaxation/fun. Leave things she needs for Christmas.
I gave my mum a free return flight to anywhere in europe.... Which I didn't win on that lastminute.com competition that I cheated to get all the answers...
The other day in a card shop they had international mothers day, with cards to go along with that. So two mothers day in a year, it's hard enough deciding what to get mother on one day. The card shops and manufacturers are just greedy *******s.
Wish this thread wouldn’t keep coming to the top of the forum; it always makes me think I’ve forgotten mothersday!
Actually in the US it's on May 11th (always the second Sunday) in Mexico it's always May 10th no matter what day of the week it is. Looking for a great Mother's day gift idea? Why not give her an Austin Star Map it's a great way to spend the day with mom and see the town together. It's also a very unique gift idea that she'll just love.
The petrol stations here do gift cards - with the price of petrol these days, anyone who drives I found always find this a really good gift - that's what my godmother is getting this year Practical, too.. and they can spend the money they save on something they want!
