ya ya ya... Will get mpg out tonight, I had to reinstall my 320GB Raid array last weekend, and the Pinnacle Studio didn't make it back on yet... I just used what I had at the time.. Darn Windows Movie maker, Won't save anything but WMV, at least for me... I don't have half of my codecs loaded yet,

I have downloaded the file a handful of times and I just get "unable to find a suitable decompressor" what do I need to play it? I just downloaded the latest divx codec, but that didn't fix it.

    Sweet looking mod, btw.

You just need Windows Media Player. Version 8 will do.

I have just one question, did you recycle the microswitches to let the motor know full up/full down? If what you had was mysteriously wired to the board, I'd suggest using some normally closed microswithes in series with the motor and to put diodes across those swithes to short them when the polarity is reversed. I don't know how clear this idea is, I had tried to do an ascii schemating, but the board didn't like it.

    1. I was trying the microswitch thing, and it doesn't have enough travel, and Adding more contact points was a pain.
    2. It stops by hard-stops, i.e. it gets to the bottom, and stops by pure force, but the motor slips at that point and causes no damage to the gearing. the toothed "rod" on the back is what stops it, not the screen itself, so it doesn't damage anything.

    3. Next time you wanna ascii draw, do it in Notepad, create a # code with a space in it, then insert with cut and paste into the post, not the popup window, the window won't allow multiple lines, but the post will...

    4. Thanks.

    so where is the article?

    HEHEH...

I was thinking of server or pneumatic controlled flaps for blowholes what not. I.e. blow hole off a cover slides in place flush....i.e. roll then position over the blowhole and 'fall in place'.

This would take a fair amout of robotics knowledge or basically some PIC based servo control with a PWM signal defining how much the servo must rotate by...

    Regards, Mike....

Working on article. Forthcoming it will be... I got a wife, 2 kids, a full time job, a business, a house, a car with 230K miles plus one with engine problems, and a social life. The article will be ready when it's ready. Now I know a little how Linear feels... Pressure pressure pressure...
    lol...
