anyone mod their mouse? if i get some good ones posted i will display my latest master piece... hint its made of mostly metal.
well it took me 2 atempts to get this one right and in the proccess cost me about $40 in mice. this latest one i took a flying leap and used a $30 optical mouse for the guts of it.
Mine has blue lights. I just picked up a vacuum form machine so I may be making me a new mouse body soon. I'm not sure yet. Just an idea I'm tossing around.
HEY I DIDN'T HAVE much of a choice in the matter it was either a vette or a viper and i screwed the viper up in the first attempt.. first attempt was a wheel mouse... way way too mant problems so i broke out and bought a second optical to rip apart for it
oh yea and it you thought it was easy cutting that metal top to mount the buttons in well you have another thing coming it took me an hour to put them damb holes in it.
wow.. that vette mouse a model car kit? looks nice, i saw mice in the form a different cars years ago but they were always so expensive. 80$ upwards for a 2 button serial mouse, not me.. -scoob8000
well i may be willing to part with it but the 3 people who have asked haven't offered enough to cover parts and the time i put into building it. this is a 2 button optical USB mouse
My first actual mod was on a microsoft trackball mouse i picked up for $10 USD. The buttons are on the side (thumb) with the wheel on top and button/wheel just to the right of that....anyways, I added lights for each button and for the wheel. I found tha when scrolling the wheel, it has 2 contact points and was able to light up 2 leds with it. one is always on while the other is off, alternatly ofcorse, the the thumb buttons each have a lite and the button for the wheel has one as well. The hard part was CRAMING all the wires into the thing and still have rool for the ball!! That was the fun part!!lol I dred each time I take it apart to clean it....ohh, what fun!!
www.metku.net all the mouse mods you can handle... i did the one with the fan in it, i did this operation on a normal microsoft intellimouse (ball)
i vinyl dyed my intellimouse explorer v2.. nothing amazingly special, but it looks better with my system than the gray will post the rest of my system in a bit
