After I reinstalled my computer I also had to set up my Wacom tablet again.

I then discovered that the pad could be run in either "Pen mode" or "Mouse mode". Pen mode seems to register where on the pad the pen is and move the cursor to the correct position on the screen directly, while mouse mode will move the cursor in the direction the pen is moved.

I was testing it out but it felt pretty slow in mouse mode, but the precision was a bit better.

I'm just curious. How do you people set up your tablets?

personally i prefer pen mode since i know where something is on the screen so i just go to that bit on the tablet as opposed to dragging the cursor in mouse mode

just as with M4RTIN I'm using pen mode. I've tried mose mode a few times but it keeps confusing me.
On smaller wacoms mouse mode is helpful but it's more a question of the pad just having to be bigger.

My Wacom came with a mouse and a pen (one of those small, cheap entry-level ones) which each go in their respective mode. However a lot of the time I find that the pen just isn't precise or responsive enough on a tablet that small (4x6"?) especially when it's scaled up to a 24" screen so it doesn't do a tremendous amount of good for me.

Mouse mode, even on the bigger tablets. Pen mode just gets frustrating.

It's easier to draw in pen mode, so it ends up being left on that.

I've practically stopped using a mouse since I got my Bamboo last year.

Pen mode, dont bother with the mouse on it. Use a gaming mouse for nearly every thing else though.

I love my wacom, best investment I have ever made. :)
