I have a movie that is in .avi format and says it should work with divx, but I downloaded all the divx players and when i tried to open it in divx it gave me an error like it:
The video file you are opening includes video data that is not recognized
    by the DivX Player.

The file contains the following type of data:
    video data: FOURCC code "xvid"

You may need to install a new video codec on your computer to watch

So I installed the Matroska_Pack_Full_v1.0.3 codecs and it seems to open, but it doesn't play when I click the play button. Please Help.

The error you got says that the movie file is an xvid, so you need the Xvid codec from here.

ok...i downloaded that file "xvidcore-1.1.0-beta2" and tried to play the movie and it still won't play. I extracted it and put it in the Xvid folder and still doesn't. Where do i extract it to or what do i do with it. Note there was no executable that came with the file.
