    Hey all,

Having just installed my new SSD I'm wondering whether I can escape doing a full reinstall of WoW. Can I simply move the WoW folder across to my SSD? How would I would I then install the launcher? Would I be better off just setting aside the time to reinstall?

Thanks in advance, Steam and Origin libraries to sorted out at a later date...:sigh:

You want to use a hard drive cloner, I used Acronis to move my data to the an SSD but had to make the Win& installation smaller to fit on the drive

If it's just WOW you can move the folder without any issues, run the launcher and if anything is missing it will download it anyway.

Yup - will 2nd that. I have, and often back up my WoW folder to an external drive for just in case scenarios, or putting it onto a new laptop for travelling. Should be fine just to move it.

Yup its exactly how it works. The Launcher will re-create any registry keys it needs to.

Only thing you might have to do if you're 64-bit is search and edit a key manually relating to stepping the wow app down to 32bit.

Or grab the 64bit client from the official forums which works surprisingly well.

Thanks everyone. I'm already using the 64bit client so it's just a case of moving the folder it seems :)

Don't know what I was thinking about regarding the launcher as it's in the WoW folder along with the exe.

EDIT: and that will be the quote and not the edit button...
