Just thought I'd warn people with cheap ADSL Routers, if you have multiple tabs open and use the 'tweaks' it can crash the router by opening too many connections.

It's been fine for me but I have two frineds who've had problems.

Atomic: I had the same problem in .7 of Firebird

@woodshop: TBE didn't kill your bookmarks, it is a problem with .9. TBE works fine here :)

Cant find no.5 its not there :(

Can you make firefox launch new windows in new tabs by default? If so what's the setting?? Ive found right click - open new window as new tab which is what i love, but i need it as default to fully be able to change from CB.

I was lovin this till it doesnt want to open urls from my links bar in new tabs, it just loads them into the same open tab.

    ARGH!! MOFO! :grr:

Do you have the TabBrowser Extension? I think it does all of that for you. At least I'm using it and I can do that. :D

TabBrowser Extensions was the best thing I've ever installed.

My god. Screw Avant Browser now. I'm completely internet secure now.

I think that option is obsolete in the latest version of firefox.

The rest of you may be interested in this thread, over at the gentoo forums. Some of those "speed tweaks" are against http standards and will result in huge performance hits on web servers- so tone 'em down a bit!

    Nice tip tho!

    Cheers

    Sam

you guys said that you had to add in the nglayout.initialpaint.delay. thing..

just one question .. how do you exactly add that ? because i heard that is the most usefull one .. :sigh:

Yeh, just add it in. :read:

Integer. it's 0, so it's not boolean nor is it a string. integer.

    Where's your CompSci knowledge?! :D

Say, for example, someone (A friend) put a "string" with that name. Then he checked this thread and found out that he should have used an integer... How would my "friend" go about changing it from a string to an integer? He can't delete it and I can't change that bit of it.

    Ta :)

    Hello,
If you run Firefox and it automatically closes, and then when you open it again it asks you to choose a light version or something else then the crashed copy is still running in the background in the memory.

Just open up your task manager and end task all processes that start like "firefox.exe"

You will also know as your internet cache increases, firefox will crash more frequently, especially when rendering javascripts and images. One example is www.xanga.com. This is a bug in firefox still waiting to be resolved.

Firefox also loads very slow and renders much slow than I.E although it is still a good browser.

I recomend everyone give a try to Maxthon browser which was renamed from MyIE2, http://www.maxathon.com

It renders pages faster than I.E. and Mozilla and best of all it has ultimate security. It has tons of features and come in a full version and a lite version.

I have stopped using Mozilla because it crashes often BUT it is not related to the speed tweaks above.
