Hi, I have recently ripped a ton of my CD's to MP3 and don't want to have to write all the song info my self. Are there any good Tagging software (freeware) out there that can do this for me?
I think with dbPowerAmp, you get a free 30 day trial to AMG. Which should tag everything. Might have been easier if you'd ripped with dbPowerAmp, but it should still be possible.
http://www.mp3tag.de/en/ This is what I use, has ability to import from Amazon, discogs, freedb, MusicBrainz, though I mostly use for the filename-to-tag feature.
MP3Tag is really good. It even does the album art too. Does anyone know when MusicBrainz Picard will be updated to support the new EchoPrint audio fingerprinting technology (or a similar app which uses Last.fm)? http://blog.echonest.com/post/6824753703/announcing-echoprint
Personally, I use Winamps Auto-Tagger. It has a few problems with some of the more obscure stuff but it's pretty good otherwise. But I don't need to auto tag too often, so I haven't really looked into any other alternatives.
+1 for mediamonkey - itunes stuffed all my mp3 tags but the monkey came good, it also pulls info from amazon and a few other places so it should cover all bases
