http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_601854.html?menu=news.latestheadlines Damn, and I thought it was one of the best things MS had ever done..
I have a feeling that 100% of those who complained were growups, parents or those people who don't appreciate console games, or even video games in general.
well it was quite odd... and i can see why some ppl might find it provocative... but tbh i don't really care much... it wasn't a funny ad like some that were removed and you missed afterwards (some tango ads spring to mind) edit: also x24... so what if they were the only ones to complain... they pay the majority of the TV licenses not the kids
Ummmm, I think that's pretty irrelevant. What difference would it make? I mean, you've all seen the classy GameCube ads right? It's like how the Tango ads are just weird and have been offensive in the past whereas, say, the Fanta ads are damn cool. Namasayn?
LMAO sounds very funny to me, although I didnt actually see it myself, mind u they will probably get more publicity from it being banned that it being on TV very clever mr.bill
Dougie... somebody (it may have been kna or kv but i can't remember) posted a link to it in GD ages ago... use your searching powers and you shall find it
lol, I can't see how 100 complaints out of the (no doubt) 10s of millions of viewers can get an advert banned. Imo, it was kind of thought provoking, I wanted an xbox after that ad! Ah well
I get ya. I know it is rather irrelevant. It's just a matter of it being in the ranks of "Did you know" and "It figures" kind of thing. In a way, what they stood up about is true, if you look at it that way. Not all things shown to us (like in ads and commercials) have messages that are intentionally negative. sometimes they are, but it's just a way to lighten things up a bit or make fun out of them, or even show us the irony of things, OR just getting the fun out of it. I'm an adult, I know the irony of life, I'm catholic so I've also had my share of life teachings, but I didn't see it that way. Maybe because I like and appreciate video gaming. Or maybe my appreciation of video gaming made me think that way. Again, it's just a matter of perspective, point of view and appreciation.
So if I wanted to broadcast my hairy arse for 30 seconds you'd support my freedom of speech? Splendid.... now where did that film crew go..
indeed i would support you if you were to show me your hairy ass in the breaks between richard and judy. why do these ppl have to complain, why can't they just chuck their damed TV and lives out of the window.
If you're a big enough monkey to sit through Richard & Judy then I think it only fair punishment that you see my hairy arse
As for complaining anbout the people who got it banned. Normally I'd say 'Dont be an arse. If you dont like it, dont watch it' But this is advertising, so is different. You have to cater to the lowest common denominator. ie make it for everyone.
maybe we should all complain about the pc world advert for saying they sell good computers at low prices and get it banned.
/sarchasm on oh but pc world do sell good high quality computers at cheap prices, only yesterday my friend bough a new technology the sales clerk said was not avalable yet, its called the intel 486 & its in a shiny packard bell tower, that jsut says that it is the greates tocputer on the planet oh & it only cost him £10,000 & it dont run oay of that xp rubbish it has a new top secret operating sytem called 3.1 /sarchasm off sorry i could not resist but i agree tha they should be brough to justice over there stores, i mena it was only at Xmas a friend of mine (yes a friend with brests b4 you ask & rater nice one @ that, if only she was not engaged ) bough a 1.8 p4 packard bell (i tred to warn her) & had it break down 3 months later it died (i mean total hard drive failure) only for pc world to mess ehr around something awful they blamed a hardware fault on software? they needto stop lying in ads or sort themselves out
