Apparently this is one of the best CD burners Viper Lair has tested:

"Since the CDRW occupied most of the disc, we can see the CR52-A2 inching closer to its maximum thoroughput. The drive tops out at about 51x, and averages about 39x through the disc. CPU usage was low as well, so the drive shouldn't drag your system to a halt when reading data CDs."

32x CD-RW? That's faster than my old TDK cyclone can burn straight CD-R's!! :eeek: :D

Doesn't it become dangerous to spin a CD above 60x?

I still think the best CD-RW ever manufactured was the Yamaha CRW-F1 and fortunately I own one :) Not the quickest, but still very fast, very high quality burns, lots of cool features included with the drive (Disc T@2 is good fun!) and heck they even made it look great :)

I'm not sure what the limit is on spinning CD-Rs, but I think 50x+ is spinning them in excess of 12,000RPM.

I remember an article once stating CD burning would get to 16x and then stop :)
