Just interested if any Bit-Techers have overclocked this MSI card? As it's a very reasonable £233.48 on SCAN at the moment... http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1280...-732mhz-shader-1464mhz-480-cores-dl-dvi-mhdmi
shall be getting one soon for a play about, will let you know how it goes mate, but i suspect it will be the same as any other stock card, unless i win the chip lottery or something (here's hoping)
it is indeed, hopefully he should have the parts by the end of the month, so shall let you know asap mate, although hopefully i can persuade him to buy the card now or sooner than the end of the month at least, which means i could give it a nice run in on mine
I'd be tempted to jump SLI if it got closer to the £200 mark, also a little reapplication of TIM with AS5!
you mean one 570 rather than sli 460's mate? Yeah always better with the one card usually meh i always thought that as long as the tim isn't a bodge job or something when the cards are assembled they don't really need a re-application of a different tim as there's very little difference between the better brands, arctic silver, icy diamond etc. also i did try it with another friends build i did with an evga 570, took the card apart and had practically no difference between stock tim and MX-2
No, GTX 570 SLI! Single card would be rather pointless with a couple of GTX 460s to rival it! Since Nvidia use large heat spreaders on recent GPUs I tend to reapply TIM with AS5 for piece of mind. Over the years in my experience it lasts longer than typical thermal paste and maintains a fluid like consistency whilst staying put when applied. So it's dead easy to work with and at least I then now that particular aspect of the GPU is not holding any overclock back! Thanks for the link storm20200, interesting read.
