Linux Msn Messagner Type program for linux mandrake

    is there a program that will allow me to log into my msn messanger through linux

    i use gaim fot my aim, msn, and yahoo accounts and even thouf it supporst irc i use xirc for that. both of these should have been installed if you clicke on the desktop solution during instalation or was it internet station? eather way both are on your install disks if you go to configure packages install paxkages you can search them out and install.. to run them if you can't find them in you menu open a terminal and type gaim or xirc at the bash the hit enter. also typing menudrake and running that will update the menu with your new programs if it was not done auto.

    start gaim if it's the first time it'll ask for aim info screen nams and such
    then it'll start
    now go up to tool>accounts>click add

    you should be able to get it from here

    that's pre-0.70 releases, works just fine now

    (except getting disconnected, but you know that, you're on irc, it's prolly on my end anyway)

    it's nice, works with kde, yada yada

    once your confident with mandrake, may i suggest a move to another distro? there's a lot of command line work whihc is hard lo learn with mandrake. try Gentoo or Debian

    That's really strange because I upgraded to 0.70 yesterday and it still wasn't having any of it :confused:

    odd, they must have changed it yet again :wallbash: well, 0.75 works for me in winXP and RH, so that very well may be it :)

    and it only does msn whereas gaim does msn, aim, icq, yahoo, and others

    It does do MSN a lot better though. And Rich, it does have block checking. :thumb:

    Were all those progs posted only for linux? (soz im lazy) i'm lookin for a 3rd party prog for MSN messenger thats nice and small. College can be very boring, if i can get msn on my user area without annoying anyone i'll be happy :)

    I'm trying to get aMsn to work, it seems i need the tcl/tk interpriter? i have downloaded it, I think. I don't know how to install it/ use it, total n00b here btw, any help would be greatly aprecicated.
