Hi i just started delving into multiple screens, is there a way i can get different items up on each screen without either A: dragging items/folders across or B: going into display and changing monitor from 1 to 3 ? I have a vga plugged into my mobo and a tft plugged into my 4850. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Not sure exactly what you're looking for... Do you want certain apps to open automatically on one screen or another? If so, then windows will have a go at doing that itself (What OS are you using?) But for better control, try ultramon, it's a 40$ app but I've used it for years on multimon settups. http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/
on one screen i will use it for monitoring stocks/shares and the other screen internet and games ,i have vista ultimate. Yeah what i want is to have apps on on screen and apps on another screen and when i open a app on say screen 1 i want it to open on screen 1 same with say screen 3 but the problem i have is when i open a app on screen 3 it open on screen 1 :/.
Some applications will remeber where they where last opened and closed on other monitors others will always just pop up on the primary screen. Games will always genrally load on the primary screen as will most video players. Also what gfx card is on the mobo? As I seem to recall that vista does not support multiple video drivers to be loaded at any time. So is your only problem that you dont wish to drag an application from 1 monitor to another (which is pritty much the quickest method) or you could as mentioned pay $40 for ultramon, which will give you a drop down menu in which you can "send to monitor x".
