    Hi all,

My broadband is supplied with sky and the router they give you that you have to use is rubbish so I have disabled the wireless on it and I am using it as an ADSL modem and to dish out IP address. I have connected two wireless cable routers to it because one isn't enough to fill the house.

    Here is a simple diagram

Everything works fine but I have two wireless networks in the house and two SSID's which is a pain if you are going from one part of the house to another.

The WNR3500 supports wireless repeating but you have to use WEP encryption and its not ideal as they are all wired together is there any way to get each router to broadcast the same wireless network?

If I put them both to the same SSID and encryption key will my devices just see one network?

thats sounds the same as mine, got one at the front and one at the back of the house, put them both on the same SSID and password, set them to different channels so no interference and windows only sees one network and i can move from the front to back of house without losing connection!

Seeing as I have a thread open on my network,

Is there any way to configure my sky router to provide a WAN port so I can get one of the LAN connection back on my WNR3500?

    very short answser NOPE

if you need more ports buy a switch maybe ?

the sky router could be used to provide another layer of NAT but that would require a router (cable) with an appopriate WAN port.
