Windows Murky look to The Lost And Damned?

I've just started playing this, having snapped it up on the Steam sale, and the whole tone of the graphics is utterly souless, brown, grey and muted.

I don't remember GTA IV being quite so lacking in colour, but it's not on my PC right now, so I can't compare.

I'm guessing this look and feel is entirely intentional - but can anyone else confirm please?

 

Yeah it's intentional, there's an extra grain filter and some colour filters slapped on for good measure. If I remember correctly you can turn them off in the graphics options.
