I have now reached a point where i have too much music and keep repeating on albums as i forget i own them. Which is most annoying. So what i need is a program which i can use to catalogue my LP's and CD's. Ideally i don't want an online based database though. Free would be great but i will pay if it is a good bit of software. Cheers
Excel? I'm looking for a similar thing, but something will automatically make a list of albums/tracks I have, just in case I lose any of it.
I have heard good things about this program Music Label 2007. Heres the download.com link, If you dont want to download it from their try another site. Hope this helps you out man. http://www.download.com/Music-Label-2007/3640-2141_4-10596739.html?v=1&tag=tab_ur
Thanks i am trying it out at the moment. I must say it looks good so far. The only long term problem now is that i have to insert a few hundred CD's and manually add a few thousands LP's
new -> music cd or vinyl -> artist/title search -> then search Or for a CD just use the CDDB2 option if you want it to get the info from an inserted CD.
Take a look at Music Collector as well, whilst you're at it...seems to be the most popular software for such as a task, from reading the Zerogain forums
Outsource it If you want a cheap solution to make custom databases like access check out the latest version of openoffice they added an access style database program allowing you to make queries, forms, tables, etc. I use it for cataloguing my software / movies.
