    From the Beeb:

Music fans in the US will enjoy cheaper CDs after the world's largest record company, Universal, announced plans to cut the price of albums by up to 30%.
Universal - which has artists like U2, Eminem and Sir Elton John on its roster - said it hoped to "invigorate" the market after a three-year slump.

From October, the company will put the "suggested" price for most CDs at $13 (£8.25) - down from $17-19 (£11-12).

Album sales in the US dropped 15% between 2000-2002 - blamed on "piracy".

    Too little, too late?

Will you be buying more CD's now that the prices have been 'slashed'?

£8 a CD over there still means £15 over here :(

When it gets to £10 or less then i buy CDs.

It would cost me several thousand £s to buy all my music on CDs, this isn't saying that I wouldn't like to quite the contrary, but I have better things to spend my money on :) Like food, phone bills, internet bills and soon rent.

I spent the thousands while I was still living with my parents....

I've now allocated £150 a month to CDs, no more.

Same as Penski. I've not paid more than £8 for an album in the last 3 to 4 years. And sometimes as little as £3.50, for a brand new release, so this won't effect me much.
I love to buy music whenever I have the money. It's one of those things that I just like to have the original copy. Plus the fact that if someone can make something that I enjoy listening to, then they deserve my money.

:thumb: my motives exactly, though i always have to pay more than 10 quid for an album generally; almost everything i buy is from HMV...

I love this argument.. if you haven't got the cash, stealing it doesn't make it ok. Why not go into Sainsburys and steal the food instead?

If I like a car, I don't just take it because I can't afford it.
